Bio
Aida Alami is a Moroccan reporter currently leading a project funded by
the International Women Media Foundation, supporting journalists
covering Muslim culture’s role in the United States. She has been
contributing to The New York Times since 2011 and mainly covers
migration, human rights, religion, politics and racism. She has reported
from North Africa, the Middle East, Europe, the United States, Haiti,
the Dominican Republic and Senegal. She was a contributor to the
best-selling book, Our Women on the Ground: Essays by Arab Women Reporting from the Arab World, and is a graduate of the Columbia School of Journalism.
